As law enforcement officials have initially determined, a 19-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Golf, a resident of one of the villages in the Drohobych district, struck a pedestrian, a 54-year-old man from the Stryi district. The pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident and died at the scene.

On the morning of Thursday, December 26, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the Kyiv-Chop highway in the village of Rozvadiv, Striy district. A 54-year-old pedestrian was killed as a result of being hit by a vehicle. This was reported by the police of the Lviv region.

In connection with the traffic incident, investigators have initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for this article includes imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, along with the deprivation of the right to operate vehicles for up to three years or without such deprivation. Law enforcement is working to establish the circumstances of the incident.
