Explosions were heard near the Russian airbase in Ryazan.

On the night of Wednesday, December 4, explosions were heard in the Russian regions of Ryazan and Novorossiysk. The attacks targeted the Dyagilevo airbase and the Novorossiysk port, reported Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council.

The authorities in Ryazan reported a nighttime drone attack. Videos shared by witnesses show explosions within the city and sounds resembling drone flights. Local Telegram channels reported an attack on the Russian airbase in Dyagilevo.

“Ryazan – strikes on the Dyagilevo airbase. One of the key airbases of the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation,” – Andriy Kovalenko wrote.

Additionally, explosions were heard at the Novorossiysk port. According to the head of the CDC, Russian forces base their missile carriers there, which participate in the shelling of Ukraine.

The local authorities in the Krasnodar region of Russia did not comment on the attack on the port; however, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that they allegedly shot down five drones there. Furthermore, the Russians reported the downing of:

• 12 drones over the Rostov region
• five UAVs over Bryansk
• five drones over Belgorod
• four UAVs in the Ryazan region
• two drones over Kursk
• one drone over the Astrakhan region

The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not commented on the explosions in Russia at this time.
