In the occupied Luhansk region, schools have started to be closed or merged, and the buildings of these educational institutions are set to be handed over to the Russian military. This was reported on Saturday, February 8, by the Center for National Resistance.

It is noted that this decision was made by the occupying authorities due to a demographic crisis and a lack of students. Additionally, there is currently a shortage of teachers in Luhansk, as more Ukrainians are choosing to leave the occupied region, and there are also no willing migrants from Russia to the temporarily occupied territories. Furthermore, parents are refusing to send their children to schools that follow the Russian propaganda curriculum.

“The occupiers have planned to merge sparsely populated schools, and some schools will be consolidated with kindergartens to justify their existence,” the Center for National Resistance reported.

It is known that the buildings of the closed educational institutions are planned to be transferred to units of the Armed Forces of Russia.

Recall that on February 1, the Center for National Resistance reported that the Russians are illegally selling off the property of Ukrainians in the occupied territories, with the proceeds being directed to replenish the military budget of the Russian Federation. It is known that in occupied Crimea, the Russians have already earned over 4.8 billion rubles (approximately 1.4 billion UAH) from the sale of confiscated property belonging to Ukrainians.
