Shakhtar, fueled by Sudakov's double, defeated Oleksandriya decisively, narrowing the gap with Dynamo.

On Saturday, March 1st, in the central match of the 19th round of the Ukrainian championship, "Shakhtar" hosted "Oleksandriya" at the "Arena Lviv". Despite the fact that the first shot on target by the "miners" occurred only in the 62nd minute, Marinko Puzhich's team managed to finish the game with a resounding victory.

"Oleksandriya" took the initiative from the very first minutes and confidently controlled the ball. Tsara attempted a cross from the left flank, but a deflection interrupted his effort. By the middle of the half, both teams were battling for control of the midfield, with no dangerous moments arising. Only in the middle of the half did Shved manage to cross into the box for Traore, but Shabanov was first to the ball.

Later, "Oleksandriya" took two free kicks, which posed no real threat. Near the end of the half, after a third consecutive corner from the visitors, Shabanov won the positional battle against Nazaryna and headed the ball – it went past the goal. In the 60th minute, Tsara beat Tobias on the left flank and hit the crossbar. Shortly after, Ehinaldo capitalized on a mistake by the visitors, went one-on-one, beat the goalkeeper, and shot from a tight angle – Kampush managed to clear the ball from the empty net.

At the midpoint of the second half, "Shakhtar" finally scored: Kevin passed to Sudakov, who then fed Elias on the right, and the Brazilian shot from under Kaluzhny – Yermakov reacted but Sudakov was first to the rebound. Kovalyets could have equalized almost immediately, but a deflection saved the "miners". Filippov tried to catch Riznyk off guard with a long-range shot – it didn’t work out.

In the last minute of the match, Ehinaldo confirmed the winner: Matviyenko burst down the left flank into the box and passed to Ehinaldo in the center – the Brazilian did not miss. In added time, after a quick 3-on-3 counterattack, Sudakov completed his brace, finishing off the disoriented opponent.

This victory allowed "Shakhtar" to accumulate 39 points and narrow the gap to "Oleksandriya" to two points. They now trail "Dynamo", which had previously drawn with "Vorskla" (1:1), by 8 points, but still have a game in hand.
