Трамп обсудил с Путиным завершение войны в ходе телефонного разговора.

U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that he had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the New York Post on Saturday, February 8.

Trump spoke with NYP journalists aboard Air Force One on February 7. The U.S. President acknowledged that he had a dialogue with the Russian President but did not disclose the conditions or dates of the conversation.

“I’d rather not say,” Trump responded when asked how many times he had spoken to Putin.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump believes that Vladimir Putin is supposedly “truly concerned” about the killings on the battlefield.

“He wants people to stop dying. All these dead people. Young, beautiful people. They are like your children, two million of them – and for no reason,” Trump stated.

The U.S. President reiterated that he would not have allowed a three-year war if he had been president in 2022.

“I have always had a good relationship with Putin,” he said, adding that he has a specific plan to end the war.

“I hope it will be quick. People are dying every day. This war in Ukraine is very bad. I want to put an end to it,” the American leader added.

In a comment to the New York Post, Trump also stated that he wants to negotiate a $500 million deal with President Volodymyr Zelensky for access to rare earth metals and gas in Ukraine in exchange for security guarantees in any potential peace settlement. He did not disclose further details of this agreement.

Recall that on February 7, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, likely next week, and also to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In response to Trump’s announcement, Zelensky remarked that “the coming weeks could be very busy in diplomacy.”

It is known that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in the Munich Security Conference, which will take place in Germany from February 14-16. The United States will be represented at the event by Vice President JD Vance.
