More than 5,000 Ukrainian models generating paid content on the OnlyFans platform earned approximately $123 million in revenue between 2020 and 2022. This was reported by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the deputy head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, on November 12.
As noted by the parliament member, the income of creators of erotic content has been steadily increasing each year. Collectively, from 2020 to 2022, Ukrainians working through the OnlyFans platform received:
Yaroslav Zheleznyak reminded that the OnlyFans platform is already paying taxes in Ukraine, but only on its own behalf. Content creators from Ukraine have not paid taxes to the budget due to shortcomings in domestic legislation.
“However, 'Ukrainian actors' even if these people wanted to pay taxes, it is impossible. This is effectively a confession,” the deputy added.
Draft Law on the Decriminalization of Pornography in Ukraine
It should be noted that currently, the production, storage, and distribution of pornographic images or videos is a crime punishable by criminal liability in Ukraine.
On November 11, a revised draft law on the decriminalization of pornography was registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which amends Article 301 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The author of draft law №12191 Yaroslav Zheleznyak explained that the document proposes not to imprison adult citizens for filmed and distributed intimate videos for a term of 3-5 years.
According to the draft law, criminal liability will remain solely for: non-consensual pornography (revenge porn, deep fake), extreme pornography (rape, zoophilia, necrophilia) and child pornography, as well as its distribution among children. At the same time, pimping, involvement in prostitution, and human trafficking will also remain criminal offenses.
Earlier, ZAXID.NET reported that an OnlyFans model paid over 13.2 million UAH in taxes to the state budget. The period during which the Ukrainian woman paid such a high tax amount is unknown.
