The G7 countries plan to keep Russian assets frozen even after the war with Ukraine concludes.
This information was revealed to Nikkei by several G7 sources, including high-ranking officials from the European Union.
According to reports, G7 leaders intend to make a statement on this matter later this month.
We… confirm that Russia's sovereign assets in our jurisdictions will remain frozen until Russia halts its aggression and compensates for the damages inflicted on Ukraine, as stated in the draft statement prepared by this year's G7 presidency, Italy.
As the publication reports, the draft also includes that the bloc guarantees a $50 billion loan for Kyiv.
