On Monday, December 23, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The discussions focused on the cooperation between Ukraine and Syria. This information was shared via Zelensky's Telegram channel.
Zelensky stated that the meeting addressed Ukraine's engagement with Syria following the regime's collapse and Bashar Assad's escape. Reports were presented by the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Main Intelligence Directorate, as well as by the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
We are determining our strategy and specific actions. Ukraine is interested in stabilizing the situation in Syria and the region as a whole and will support the necessary efforts of our partners.
In his view, to ensure the safety of the Syrian people and the region overall, it is essential to eliminate any Russian presence in the country.
We are grateful to every country and leader who is currently ready to assist the Syrian society in restoring normal life and building effective state institutions. We will definitely support the Syrian people in terms of food security. All necessary decisions on our part have been made, and Ukraine is prepared to supply food.
