Ukraine is actively increasing its production of domestic weapons, particularly artillery. Last year, Ukraine manufactured 154 artillery systems, surpassing the total production of all NATO countries combined throughout 2024. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference during the "Ukraine. Year 2025" forum.
This year, we aim to achieve even more.
The president also mentioned that Ukraine produced 2.2 million FPV drones and 100,000 long-range drones last year.
We will do more this year. This helps us survive — yes, it does not replace U.S. assistance, but that is not the goal. With help, we can do better.
Ukraine needs an additional 20 Patriot air defense systems, which cost $35 billion, Zelensky stated. He emphasized that Ukraine has received more Patriot systems from Germany than from any other country.
Regarding Patriot, by the way, not everything has been finalized following the comprehensive decision made at the NATO summit. On Patriot, I can respond. I am not even talking about new systems; I am referring to the systems we agreed upon last July. We are addressing these issues, working on air defense systems, and developing Ukrainian analogs… However, ultimately, the license for this is granted by the United States of America. Therefore, I would not want us to be left without this assistance.
Zelensky noted that Ukrainian-made drones are successfully operating on the front lines, and the development of ballistic missiles is ongoing.
"Palyanytsia" is flying, "Peklo" is flying, "Ruta" is flying. They are achieving success, hitting military targets… These three are airborne, and ballistic capabilities are being prepared…
According to Zelensky, last year Ukraine's contribution to its own weapons accounted for 40%, 30% came from Europe, and another 30% from the United States.
