The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has made amendments to the Tax Code.
Increased taxes for individual entrepreneurs will take effect not on October 1, 2024, but on January 1, 2025.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
According to him, project No. 9319 was supported by 268 deputies in the second reading.
“It was in this project that a correction was made, which amended tax bill 11416d and the 'retroactive date', moving the tax start date from October 1 to January 1, 2025 for individual entrepreneurs,” the deputy wrote.
In addition to individual entrepreneurs, the tax increase is also postponed for legal entities operating under the simplified taxation system of the third group.
It is worth noting that earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law increasing taxes. The document took effect on December 1. The law provides for an increase in the military tax rate from 1.5% to 5% for all citizen incomes.
The law establishes an obligation to pay a 1% military tax for taxpayers under the simplified taxation system, specifically for individual entrepreneurs of group III and legal entities of group III.
It also stipulates the establishment of a military tax for individual entrepreneurs paying a single tax of groups I, II, and IV at a level of 10% of the minimum wage (i.e., 800 hryvnias per month).
Starting January 1, 2025, monthly reporting on the Unified Social Contribution (USC), Personal Income Tax (PIT), and Military Tax (MT) will be introduced for all tax agents.
Recall that in Ukraine, as of December 1,
changes to the Tax Code came into effect. The tax increase is expected to bring an additional 8 billion hryvnias to the budget this year.
Additionally, from January 1, 2025, the profit tax rates for financial companies will be raised to 25%.
