Details: The military reported that Albek was working in a command and control center located in the building of the "Musa ibn Nusayr" school in Durai Tuffah in the Gaza Strip, which was used by "Hamas" for military purposes.
The IDF noted that "Hamas's Security Directorate is responsible for intelligence assessments that aid in strategic decision-making, as well as for the safety of high-ranking officials in the organization, providing them with hiding places."
"Albek was a central figure in security mechanisms and played a crucial role in the decision-making process," the IDF stated.
The IDF emphasized that "prior to the strike, Israeli forces took numerous measures to minimize the risk of harming civilians—high-precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence were used for the attack."
Background:
- At the end of September, Israel eliminated the leader and one of the founders of "Hezbollah," Hassan Nasrallah. Along with him, the IDF also eliminated Ali Karki – the commander of Hezbollah's Southern Front and other Hezbollah commanders.
- On October 17, Israel reported the elimination of the leader of the "Hamas" group, Yahya Sinwar.
- Sinwar became the political leader of "Hamas" in early August. He replaced Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed by the IDF at the end of July during a strike on his residence in Tehran.
