Source: According to "European Truth", this information comes from two representatives of USAID working within the agency's mission in Ukraine, as reported by NBC News.
Details: "This significantly undermines the ability of this administration to negotiate a ceasefire, and it signals to Russia that we do not care about Ukraine or our previous investments," states one of the NBC News sources.
"Russia is waging a dual war in Ukraine: a military one, as well as an economic one. They are trying to destroy the economy, but USAID plays a central role in helping it remain resilient, [including] strengthening the energy grid... We have provided substantial support to the Ukrainian government to avoid a macroeconomic crisis," he adds.
According to USAID officials, the cessation of funding will make Ukraine's energy grid vulnerable, as it will face new attacks from fresh Russian missiles.
Based on a document obtained by NBC News, the State Department has also ordered the termination of a program aimed at reforming the financial sector.
It should be noted that on February 7, Trump stated that "corruption has reached unprecedented levels" in the U.S. Agency for International Development, and therefore it needs to be dismantled.
