Details: According to a source close to Starmer, he will gather leaders at the summit in London and "politely let them know that there is only one negotiation happening right now – and that is President Trump's negotiation."
Another FT source mentions that Starmer will urge European leaders to back their verbal support for Zelensky with actions: "Ukraine currently needs military and financial assistance. It does not require people who write posts on Twitter and speak of virtue."
FT and Bloomberg also learned that after meeting with Zelensky, the British Prime Minister called U.S. President Donald Trump and French leader Emmanuel Macron.
Among other things, Starmer urged Trump and Zelensky to finalize the agreement on minerals that was disrupted following the Oval Office conflict.
One European official told Bloomberg that the Trump administration privately indicated that it wants public apologies from Zelensky to mend relations.
During his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, Keir Starmer assured that the UK will continue to support Ukraine "for as long as necessary" and is steadfastly determined to achieve a sustainable peace.
