The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has ordered that Roman Grinkevich, who is suspected of supplying substandard clothing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, remain in custody until January 21, 2025, and has reduced the bail amount.

Background:

  • On December 29, 2023, GDBR employees detained a Lviv businessman, one of the largest suppliers to the Ministry of Defense, who had offered a bribe of 500 thousand dollars to one of the leaders of the Main Investigative Department of the Bureau for assistance in returning property seized from his companies during an investigation. UP has identified him as Igor Grinkevich.
  • On December 30, 2023, Grinkevich was given a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of bail set at 429 million 440 thousand UAH.
  • Grinkevich's son stated that his family's activities were conducted within the framework of current legislation and that the scandal is ordered.
  • On the afternoon of January 11, 2024, the State Bureau of Investigations announced that as part of the investigation into the supply of goods for the needs of the Ministry of Defense, searches were conducted at the residences and workplaces of the Lviv businessman, as well as at the residences of directors and offices of his companies. The process of asset seizure was initiated.

  • In the evening of January 18, law enforcement announced a search for Roman Grinkevich. On January 22, he was detained in Odessa.
  • On October 21, GDBR employees completed the pre-trial investigation against Lviv businessman Igor Grinkevich and four other members of a criminal organization that supplied substandard military clothing for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth over 1 billion UAH.
