Direct quote: "Today, I instructed officials to report on the American support programs that are currently suspended. These are humanitarian programs. Oleksiy Kuleba and other officials are determining which specific programs are currently lacking; almost all of them were not funneled through the Ukrainian government, but directly through our communities and various organizations. There are many projects."
Details: According to the president, it will be established which programs are critical and require immediate decisions. "We can cover part of such funding thanks to our state finances, and we will discuss the rest with our European and American partners," Zelensky stated.
The head of state noted that this pertains to many areas—from communications and digitalization to support for veterans, schools, hospitals, and reconstruction.
"Of course, the details of the programs were not a matter of state concern, but officials will present everything to me, and what is prioritized, especially regarding Ukrainian children, our veterans, and infrastructure protection programs, will definitely receive our support," Zelensky emphasized.
What preceded this: Prior to this, Deputy Head of the President's Office Iryna Vereshchuk announced consultations with the USA due to the Trump administration's decision to freeze funding for humanitarian and other aid.
